A trip to Maremma to find the land, fountain-head of rebirth, source of energy, a welcoming embrace. Just being there makes you feel good.

Then the discovery of a hill. A farmhouse on the top, two elderly people, olive trees and the sea in the distance.
The name: Podere Mandorlaie. Me and my story.

Full, mixed soil, with diverse elements. Complex soil, rich in colour, scent and mood. It was just what I was looking for.

I imagined it covered with vines, at the end of each line a rose-bush. With red roses.

I imagined my mother, of Tuscan origin and character in the vineyard. My roots. The determination to be there welled up inside me. Talks with the elderly couple. The purchase of the land which I felt was mine right from the start.

I called the company after my mother, dedicated it to her strength and support. Marietta’s farm, Fattoria La Marietta was about to take shape.
